Aschaffenburg is located within the Franconia region in the north-western corner of Bavaria on the border with Hesse. The town has a multicultural population, which is reflected in the menus of local restaurants. And it's a great place to enjoy Bavarian beer, Franconian wine and Hessen cider. Besides having one of the highest concentrations of drinking establishments in Bavaria (over 400 inns, pubs and bars), Aschaffenburg also has restaurants ranging from the traditional, including the legendary Schlappeseppel brewhouse, to the modern and cosmopolitan such as the pier18 café and restaurant. If that weren't enough, there are also guided tours themed on 'drinking culture'.
